Welcome to the CoCoon Fellowship Program. We are a free mentorship community for international students who dream of earning scholarships, developing social projects, and embracing the “pay-it-forward” spirit. Over 5 successful cohorts, CoCoon Fellows have gained admission to some of the world’s leading universities at all degree levels, from undergraduate and master’s to PhD programs. If you are looking for a community that is inspiring, challenging, and genuinely supportive, CoCoon Gen 6 is ready to hear your story.

CoCoon Fellowship is a social impact initiative founded by two mentors from MiYork Education, Anh Khoa and Anh Tuyet (Annie), with the mission of helping students in Vietnam and around the world gain admission to top universities regardless of financial background, as long as they carry a sincere desire to “pay-it-forward” and support the community that built them.
CoCoon is built on the principle of giving and receiving. In every cohort, Fellows are mentored by senior CoCoon members while also participating in one or more community-oriented activities, such as developing academic projects, conducting scientific research or serving as research assistants for senior CoCoon members, as well as organizing webinar series about studying abroad, careers, and summer research opportunities around the globe. One of the defining aspects of CoCoon Fellowship is that mentorship does not end after one admissions cycle. As long as you continue to support future generations of CoCoon Fellows, you will continue to receive mentorship from more senior, experienced CoCoon Fellows.
Just between us: Some CoCoon members who first joined in high school have received continued mentorship through their master’s and even PhD applications.
Based on each Fellow’s academic goals, career aspirations, financial circumstances, and long-term settlement plans, CoCoon mentors create a personalized university list that balances dream schools, target schools, and safety schools. Mentors also guide Fellows through scholarship and financial aid preparation for each institution.
CoCoon provides in-depth advising on academic and career advising, standardized testing, competition strategy, summer programs, and scientific research opportunities. Whether applying for undergraduate or doctoral programs, Fellows receive guidance on building a highly competitive academic profile.
Fellows receive support in designing extracurricular activities, internships, and academic competitions related to their intended fields of study. CoCoon mentors help connect these experiences into a unique and meaningful story that resonates with admissions committees.
Our mentors work closely with Fellows to craft essays that authentically communicate personal stories while demonstrating Fellows’ intellectual depth. Essays are carefully revised and tailored to align with the distinct expectations of different programs and universities.
Through one-on-one mock interview sessions, mentors help Fellows improve body language, pronunciation, confidence, and answer structure for common admissions interview questions, whether for summer programs, internships, undergraduate admissions, or graduate school applications.
The CoCoon community continues to support Fellows after applications are submitted, including the transition into new academic environments during the first few semesters, and opportunities such as teaching assistantships and research assistant positions at their universities.
CoCoon operates with the philosophy of “Never afraid of hardworking students, only those who stop trying.” The program places no limits on one-on-one advising sessions, the number of universities or scholarships students may apply to, or the number of countries in which they intend to apply.

CoCoon mentors have studied and worked at leading institutions, including Duke University, Princeton University, INSEAD, Cornell University, New York University, and Peking University. They bring experience mentoring students across diverse disciplines, ranging from social sciences to natural sciences.

Beyond one-on-one mentorship, CoCoon Fellows join the broader MiYork student community, gaining opportunities to collaborate on research projects and participate in academic, entrepreneurial, and scientific competitions around the world.

CoCoon mentors treat students like partners and invest in their long-term growth. This allows mentors to provide highly personalized advice, research directions, and essay ideas that highlight each student’s most distinctive strengths.
